The Curtis Granderson, Jr. UIC Scholarship
This Scholarship was established by Curtis Granderson, Jr. (CJ) to give assistance to a current T.F. South student who has applied
and has been accepted at the University Of Illinois Chicago. Curtis values his college education as one of his most important assets.
His parents instilled in him the important value of an education and establishing this scholar for a graduate from his high school is his
way of sharing that value with others.
To help provide financial opportunities to a students from Curtis Granderson's hometown who plan to attend UIC.
Applicant must reside within the boundaries of Thornton Fractional Township High School District 215. They must be in good academic standing, have demonstrated good deportment and be enrolled as a full time student at UIC. The student may re-apply annually for up
to 3 years. GPA will be a consideration factor.
This award is financed by the Curtis Granderson Foundation.
The committee shall consist of the following members of the Granderson Family and Grand Kids Foundation board members.
Method of Selection
Selections shall be determined by the committee based upon the application criteria.
Application forms will be available to seniors who have applied to the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) in the Guidance Office
or the main office of T. F. South High School during February and March of each calendar year.
The deadline for filing a completed application will be determined by the school calendar each year (usually the first of April).
All applications must be returned to the main office at T.F. South High School.
The awards presentation will be made at the Annual Honors Assembly held in May of each school year.
